Hispanic Heritage Month Event
Organized and facilitated this program for my residents to educate them on Hispanic Heritage. This was a program I organized as a Resident Assistant at Brittany Residence Hall.
AAP Mentor
Met with my mentee, Tyler, at Brooklyn's Jasper Kane Dining Hall to discuss various academic opportunities. This was one of the 5 mentees I had under my wing as a part of the Academic Achievement Program.
BellaQuisqueya
These are a couple of event I attended when I served as the Community Chair on the Executive Board for the Dominican Club at NYU.
Unity Through Flavor
I organized this program as Resident Assistant to give Brittany Hall residents a chance to share food, culture, and community together. I gathered Honduran, Dominican, Indian, Mexican, and Soul Food.
Academic Excellence
Tandon STEM Scholar
~~
Tandon STEM Scholar ~~
In 2023, I was selected as a Tandon STEM Scholar, an honor awarded to only three students per academic year. As part of this distinction, I was awarded $20,000 in merit based funding in recognition of my academic performance, leadership, and commitment to STEM.
This award reflects sustained excellence rather than a single achievement. Selection for the Tandon STEM Scholar program is based on rigorous academic standards, demonstrated intellectual curiosity, and the ability to apply learning beyond coursework. Being chosen among a very small cohort validated the work I have put into maintaining strong academic standing while balancing research, leadership roles, and service commitments.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) ~~
I was selected as an HSF Scholar for both the 2024 and 2025 academic years, a distinction that recognizes academic achievement, leadership, and long term commitment to personal and professional growth. For the 2025 cycle, I was chosen as one of 10,000 scholars from a highly competitive pool of over 69,000 applicants nationwide.
This recognition reflects consistent effort and discipline across multiple years, rather than a one time accomplishment. Being selected in consecutive years highlights sustained academic performance, resilience, and dedication to excellence while balancing demanding coursework, leadership roles, and service commitments.
In addition to the honor itself, the HSF Scholar Program provides access to mentorship, career development, leadership training, and wellness resources, all of which support continued growth both academically and professionally.

Global Accelerator Program: Career Rotation ~~
I completed my training with The Global Career Accelerator, where I earned four professional certifications in Intercultural Skills, AI Professional Skills, UX/UI and Prototyping, and Data Visualization. This experience provided me with a strong, practical foundation in data driven thinking, design, and emerging technologies, while also strengthening my ability to work effectively across cultures and disciplines. Professional Development
Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) 2023 Convention. Salt Lake City, Utah
This was my earliest exposure to an experience of this scale. Attending this convention allowed me to truly understand what a professional convention entails and the countless hours of preparation required long before the event even begins. It gave me insight into how these spaces operate and what it takes to show up prepared and intentional.
Throughout the convention, I was able to clearly communicate who I am, my interests, and the stage I am currently at in my academic and professional journey. By leaning into my confidence and ability to advocate for myself, I was able to make the most of the opportunity and have a very successful first convention experience. I interviewed with companies such as Boeing, attended invite only hospitality suites including Microsoft, and ultimately received an internship offer with Eaton Powering Business Worldwide.
Summer 2024 Internship with EATON
During Summer 2024, I completed a Field Service Engineering Internship with Eaton, where I gained direct experience working with electrical power distribution equipment in real world settings. Throughout the internship, I worked across a variety of job sites, including Amazon warehouses, NYU Langone hospitals, New York City subway stations, etc.
My work focused heavily on medium and low voltage electrical gear, including circuit breakers, switchgear, and busway systems. I assisted with the installation, inspection, and commissioning of equipment, as well as the setup and testing of current transformers and potential transformers. I also performed industry standard electrical testing procedures such as insulation resistance testing (meggering), ductor testing, and Hi Pot testing to verify system integrity, safety, and performance before energization.
This experience strengthened my technical foundation in power distribution while reinforcing the importance of safety, and teamwork in the electrical industry. Being exposed to live systems and mission critical environments confirmed my interest in power systems engineering and solidified my career goals within the field.
Summer 2025 Internship with EATON
During Summer 2025, I returned to Eaton for my second Field Service Engineering Internship, which marked a clear step up from my first summer in both responsibility and technical depth. While my Summer 2024 internship focused on exposure and foundational learning, my Summer 2025 role allowed me to engage with electrical equipment more intentionally.
I was able to build on that foundation by exploring more complex systems and understanding how individual components interact within a complete power distribution network. I worked more closely with variable frequency drives (VFDs), automatic transfer switches (ATS), and integrated switchgear systems, gaining insight into how power is controlled, transferred, and protected in critical environments. Rather than simply observing equipment in isolation, I focused on how these systems respond to real world conditions such as load changes, outages, and commissioning requirements.
In addition to field exposure, I was also trusted with a hands on technical problem involving in house equipment. One of the breaker trip unit test devices was malfunctioning, so I took the initiative to disassemble, assess, and remanufacture the unit. I successfully rebuilt the Magnum DS breaker trip unit test kit adapter (Style 8779C02G04), restoring its functionality and allowing it to be used again for testing operations.
This progression from exposure to technical engagement reflects my growth as an engineer. Returning to Eaton allowed me to move beyond learning what the equipment is, to understanding why it is used, how it operates within a system, and the role it plays in maintaining reliability and safety.
Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) 2024 Convention. Anaheim, California
This was my second SHPE convention, and I approached it very differently than my first. Having learned a lot from my initial experience, I came significantly more prepared and intentional this time around. For example, instead of bringing a single general resume, I prepared multiple versions of my resume tailored specifically to the different electrical engineering internship roles and companies I was targeting.
I researched each company in depth so I could speak clearly about my interests, technical background, and how my skills aligned with their work.
As a result, I had the opportunity to interview with companies such as Honeywell, Dominion Energy, Leidos, and Jacobs. I was also personally invited to Lockheed Martin’s hospitality suite, which further reinforced the strength of the connections I was making.
Because of the preparation I put in before the convention, I left with several internship opportunities to choose from and, most importantly, meaningful professional connections that continue to be valuable. I received internship offers from Leidos, Jacobs, Honeywell, and a return internship offer from Eaton. This experience reinforced the importance of preparation, adaptability, and intentional networking.
